Main characters often have traits (or flaws) that make them similar to characters in other books. Compare the main character(s) of your book to the character(s) of another book you have read, or of a story we have read in class. In what ways are the characters similar to each other, and in what ways are they different? If these characters were to meet, what could they learn from each other?

The main character of the book that I'm reading right now is Guy Montag. The most recent book I read was the Hobbit with Bilbo Baggins as the main character. Both characters didn't know the world they live in. There was always someone else who had to open their eyes and see the world differently. They both change to make the world better. Both had help from people. Bilbo usually had more help than Montag, but they each needed help from other people. Montag is a person while Baggins is a hobbit. They could learn about the how they both changed the world and in what ways they did. They could just give experience to each other.
I think that the main character of Mockingjay, Katniss, is similar to PK in the Power of One. They both seem to have transcendentalist thoughts about things going on in the world of their book, and the are both rebels. PK is a rebel in a way that he is going against the norm and helping to mix blacks and whites together. Katniss is a rebel because she is going against the Capitol about the events of the Hunger Games. She is also actually called a rebel along with the rest of the people in District 13 and everyone fighting against the Capitol. PK tries to bring blacks and whites together as one, and Katniss tries to bring the districts together as one. However, there is one huge difference between these two characters. PK shows civil disobedience, while Katniss isn't afraid of anyone getting killed. In fact, it was Katniss's main goal to assassinate President Snow in order to end the rebellion once and for all. PK never wanted anyone to get hurt. I think that Katniss could learn to be more civil from PK, but considering her circumstance, it might be a little different.
In my book, The Rescue, the main character is Taylor McAden. He is a volunteer firefighter, and he is constantly helping others. Taylor feels that he needs to help people, instead of helping himself. He always jumps into relationships with girls who are troubled, such as Denise Holden, who has a son that learns slower than other children. Taylor jumps into a relationship with her, in order to help Denise and her son, and then after they seem better, he leaves to find someone else to help. This reminds me of Katniss from The Hunger Games. Katniss is thrown into the Hunger Games, and in order for her and Peeta to both get out alive, they must act in love. While Peeta is truly in love with Katniss, Katniss is just acting as if she is in love with him in order to save them both, at the beginning, anyway. Even after Katniss and Peeta get out of the Hunger Games arena, they must keep up the thought they are in love, or they could be killed. The difference between Taylor and Katniss is that Katniss was in a life or death situation. Taylor was not. However, each of them thinks they are just helping other people. Katniss thinks she is helping keep Peeta alive, which she basically is, and Taylor thinks he is helping Denise with her son. The strange part is, Taylor and Katniss both really love Denise and Peeta. They are just in the relationships for the wrong reasons. If Taylor and Katniss were to meet, I think they could learn a lot from each other. Given how much Katniss has been through, it would put Taylor's life in perspective. He had been through a lot, but not near as much as Katniss. Katniss could learn that true love is a blessing. She struggles through the books about wondering who she loves, while Taylor knew who he loved the whole time, he just could not stop himself from trying to help others. Taylor could teach Katniss that when you really love someone, you know.
My main characters name is Clay. A teenage boy that seems rather, insecure about himself. He doesn't have a lot of friends and I see him as an outcast. When I think of him, I kind of think of Ponyboy from the Outsiders. Ponyboy is the young one in his group of friends and seems somewhat like an outcast, like Clay. The both go really deeply into thought in some part of each of the books. They are both faced with death of a friend. I think that if they met they would both be close to the same and feel almost the same things. I do believe that Ponyboy would have a stronger opinion. I think that he would show Clay how to be strong and not care what others think. I don't think Ponyboy would really get anything in return, though. Clay is a quiet type and probably wouldn't give out a lot of great advice.
Oddly enough, in my book there is a connection between my main character, Jake Brigance, an attorney trying to save his client's life, relates to PK in the power of one because he is persistent and never gives up on the case. PK never gave up even when everything seemed to go wrong, and do does Jake because he wants the best for his client. They were different in the fact that Jake wants to help people, while PK doesn't want that kind of responsibility. Both are extremely successful, however Jake is better at what he does. He is also older and wiser as well, so this could have a lot to do with it. If PK and Jake were to meet, it would be pretty insane! They could change the world together. PK is the person that everybody likes, while Jake is the guy who pretty much knows his stuff. Together, Jake would be the brains of the operation, while PK would carry out their plan and help people. They would help the world so much.
In The Angel Experiment, Max is the main character. She is similar to P.K in The Power of One. She is a strong person who stands up for what she believes in. She is Willing to do anything for the people she loves. When somethings makes Max mad she gets very angry and wants to fight because she has extreme strength. As for P.K, he solves his problems peacefully. He chooses civil disobedience to get his point across. Both of them want to fight for themselves and their friends and families they just have different ways of going about it. P.K could teach Max a things or two about being more calm when it comes to issues. Max gets worked up while P.K is good at staying calm. Max is a big family person and knows that they are all she has left. P.K has family but doesn't seem to cherish family like Max does. Max could teach P.K that family is the only thing that you'll have forever.
My main character, Adam Hall, is like so many different characters in some many different books. Adam is a liar, a lawyer, a good person, and most importantly a good family member.
Adam is a liar, he has to be really. In order for Adam to get on his grandfathers case he had to lie, lie about what his intentions were and lie about his last name.He even lied about why he chose the certain firm as his career because he had many different options and yet he chose the one that use to previously represent his grandfather, before they fired him.
Adam is a good person.Adam Hall does not think that he grandfather should be executed even though he is in jail for bombing the Kramer office and in return killed two little boys and injured a man who is now a quadriplegic.
Adam is a nice solid family member, his aunt Lee is an alcoholic.Lee has been an alcoholic for about ten years. She says that she has tried to quit many different times but what with her 'open' relationship, she just has never found the courage to do it.Until Adam came to town.Adam gave her a reason to be a sober woman. He is doing just that now.
There are many different characters that could compare to Adam Hall.He is like every single main character in any book that I have ever read.Adam lied yes, but he did it for a good reason.Adam lied because he wanted to save his grandfather.Which is like any other charceter. All they want to do is protect his family and learn the truth. In that instance, he reminds me of Harry Potter. All Harry want to know is the truth, he wants to know what really happened to his parents, who betrayed him, who did it.Who is the evil one.Just like Adam Hall.Adam wants to know who the evil one is in the whole ordeal with his grandfaher.Adam knows that Sam did not palce the bomb by himself and he wants to know the truth before his grandfather gets gassed.I think if Adam were to meet Harry he would in awestruck.Meeting a wizard would be so crazy but meeting the wizard that killed He Who Must Not Be Named? No words to describe how happy and giddy Adam would be.
Adam is a good person just like Kate Beckett in Castle. In this show, Beckett is just trying to find out what happened to her mother but along the way she finds so many things about herself.Kate is a cop so you know that she is a good person just like Adam.I think if Adam and Kate were to meet they would both learn so much from each other.Adam would learn that it is okay to let his emotions in and Kate would learn that yes, her mother was murdered at a young age, but her father is still alive and to love her father with everything that she has.
Adam is a good family member, much like Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games.Katniss volunteers herself to take her sister, Primrose Everdeen, spot in the Hunger Games. This shows that both these characters will do whatever it takes for the ones that the love.Katniss volunteered her life and Adam his career. If the two of them were to meet I think that they would both learn that it is not a sin to want to protect the ones that you love.It is quite humbling and commendable.
My main character in my book is like many others in books I have read in the past. The character in the book i am reading is overly brave and tough he is a cocky guy who is in charge and thinks he runs the world. Then at the end of the story he always gets hurt and looses the good guy always wins. If my main character have meet another character from a different book they would get into a fight because one another is so cocky and both could never be wrong. They would fight and no one would win. Fighting over who's better because no one is better than they are!
My main character is Sethe in the book "Beloved." Sethe has been taking care of her daughter and is having to deal with her dead daughter haunting her and Sethe also has to deal with remembering that her sons had ran away from her. One of her main flaws I think is not letting people in. From all of her bad experiences with people, she is scared to have more people in her life. If I was in her situation, I would be a little apprehensive about it too but I would want to feel like someone loved me and cared about me. I would relate her to Hattie in the book "Hattie Big Sky" that I had read in 6th grade. I always remember this book and it was one of my favorites. The girl in the book has been caring for children that weren't even hers and was a hard worker just like Sethe. I think that if they ever met Hattie would tell Sethe that she needs to let what is meant to be happen. They would get along pretty well because they both know what it feels like to be alone and have nothing.
In my book Sister Carrie, Carrie reminds me of Katniss from The Hunger Games. Many people also related the characters from their stories to the characters in The Hunger Games. Carrie decides that she wants to go to a different town so she can start her new life. Katniss volunteered to participate in the Hunger Games so her sister Prim would not have to go through that. Back home Katniss had feelings for Gale who she can fully be herself around. When Carrie moved to Chicago the only person she could really be herself around was Charlie Drouet because that was the first person she knew while being in Chicago. Gale was the first person that Katniss knew being in District 12. While living in Chicago, George fell in love with Carrie. George knew Carrie from Charlie. Later on, George then told Carrie that he was falling in love with her. The only problem with that was that he "forgot" to mention that he was a married man. George somewhat relates to Peeta because Peeta and Katniss were both people from the District 12 that were selected to participate in the Hunger Games. While being in the Hunger Games, Peeta starts to develop feelings for Katniss. That then puts Katniss in a love triangle. Carrie was in the same predicament with George and Charlie. The characters are different because Carrie ends up marrying George before his divorce from his first wife was final. Katniss never decided which man she wanted to be with because she had to worry about being in the games. If they characters were to meet, they would learn that falling in love with many people would only ruin certain things in their lives because it puts more of a strain on difficult problems.
In my book, The Chamber, the character of Sam Cayhall reminds me of Jaapi Botha, the bully in the power of one. They are similar in the fact they are both men who discriminate due to race. They both will result to very violent methods including killing to distance themselves from someone of a different race. In both situations, much time passes and they grow up. Botha remains loud and violent this way while Cayhall grows old and mellow. Cayhall is on death row against the government, and Jaapi Botha is serving for it. Botha could learn that violence has unintended consequences from Cayhall because Cayhall at least regretted his actions when the 2 little children died. Botha remains uncompassionate until the end.

Department Nineteen
By: Will Hill
In my book Department nineteen my main character Jamie Carpenter who's mom was kidnapped by strange characters who have dragged Jamie's mom to Department nineteen that was a secret government agency. These strange monster's have basically lead Jamie to this agency to basically trap him and kill him but when Jamie got to department nineteen something didn't feel right with Jamie and the vampires that are trying to kill him. FRankenstein shows up and starts to demolish everything in sight and kills Jamie's mom and eventually try's to kill Jamie in the process but, Jamie got out of his way. Eventually frankenstein's creator start to join sides with Jamie as they try to kill all of these vampires. That is all that i have gotton to in my book.
The main character in my book is Jay Gatsby. I would honestly compare him to Bruce Wayne. They are both millionaires, but there is so much more to them then meets the eye! i guess i haven't read that book, but that is who i would compare him too. The similarities they share are obviously the amount of money they have, their life styles are a lot alike, and they're both very mysterious to the people around them. Ways they are different, clearly Bruce Wayne is a super hero who saves the world, and Jay Gatsby is just a millionaire who learned a lot from his childhood and crew up wanting to be rich and well known. They are also similar because EVERYONE knows them! They're both very well known to their towns, and the people who don't know them, want to know them. I would say if Gatsby and Wayne were to meet, then they actually would learn a lot from each other. I think Wayne would teach Gatsby the importance of life, and to stop getting his money and fame from illegal activities. I think Gatsby would teach Wayne how to have a lot of fun in life, and to not sweat the little things. I think they would just be the best of friends! (:
Sunrise Over Fallujah - The main character is called Robin Aka Birdie, he isn't like the other main characters I've seen, he is a calm and collective yet timid. This could be because the story if a battle scene being over seas and in a war. Compared to the other main characters he doesn't have these amazing talents like others he is just like you and me just in the Marines over seas fighting.
There are way too many main characters and They all have different personalities this book switches characters points of views and each has a different story to tell. it all ties up in the middle where Rufus's father Jay dies from an accident. Rufus is just a little boy and he lost his father. in a way it reminds me of Harry potter who lost his parents. They could both benefit from each other by remembering them by memories and happy tales of them. Not what happened who did it. Harry in his book is a hero in his world Rufus is just a boy that doesn't really have much going for him. he just wants his father back. in the story Rufus Follet is James Agee's incarnation in the novel, the son of Mary and Jay Follet. Rufus is perceptive and intelligent, and he greatly admires his father. Harry Potter is the very same way except he mostly admires Dumbledore and Severus Black. They both are similar in many ways with one flaw. being a hero.
The main character in my book is named Winston Smith. He is living in a period where everything is controlled by powerful people. They are always being watched and listened to. Winston has started going against the Party, not publicly, but in his privacy. He has started thinking rebellious thoughts that he would not normally think. Winston reminds me of Katniss Everdeen from the Hunger Games because they are both rebelling against the people that control everyone's lives. They are similar because they are being rebellious by going up against the high power such as Big Brother and President Snow. Katniss is more outspoken than Winston. Her rebelliousness is out in the open for everyone to see while Winston keeps to himself about what he is thinking. If these characters met, Winston would learn from Katniss to stop hiding his feelings and to stand up against the Party. I think Katniss would learn to reserve herself a little more to keep herself and the people close to her safe.
I'm reading the book "13 Reasons Why" for my book project, and in MTV we are reading the book "The Uglies." I think Hannah from "13 Reasons Why" is like Shay from "The Uglies," because they both have problems with what other things think about them and have to say. Hannah does so by committing suicide, because she doesn't like the way people treat her, and she doesn't like what everyone thinks. Shay, on the other hand, actually runs away, to be with some friends. Everybody in her community is considered ugly until they have an operation at age 16. The operation makes them pretty and they are then allowed to go live in new pretty town with all the other pretties. She doesn't think people should be considered ugly, just because they aren't completely perfect. She doesn't believe you should have an operation to make yourself what everyone else wants you to be. I think if they met they would both agree on each other's beliefs, and they would get along really well. They would maybe talk through it though, and maybe find some strength and understanding. Hannah might not have killed herself, and Shay might have had the operation and been with Tally and her other pretty friends.
I will be comparing the main character of this book, to the main character of the Pendragon series. They are similar because they are both males, they are kind, and they are helpful to all those around them. The only difference is that Tenete is willing to go to war, and Pendragon is very reluctant to take part in the journey. If they were to meet, Pendragon would learn about perseverance, and Tenete would learn to think quickly while acting, to make split-second decisions.
The main character in my book the lord of the flies
is Ralph. He is the leader of the little group and tries to get the to build shelter until they can get rescued. The most recent book that I have read is Eureka . In the book their is an average sheriff in a town of geniuses. Ralph and The sheriff have to try and keep everyone under control and keep the peace in a way. The sheriff is just doing his job and solve crime's. Ralph is just doing what is best for the group. Ralph and the sheriff have no idea what they are doing but they are trying their best. That is the connection I made between the two books. That is what I think the two character have in common.
Guy Montag isn't happy but acts like he is. His life is poor and very controlled. But who does do a good job. He also questions things like why the people don't do what they want. He also questions why the firefighters set books on fire instead of putting them out. Bobby Pendragon also asked questions and he figured them out in the end. Both characters are sent on journeys to figure out who they are.
The main character in my book is Aaron Lake, he is running for presedent of the U.S. with the help of the C.I.A. He is the most like the other main character who is the head of the Brethren his name is Spicer. They are alike because they are trying to be the head of something. I think that Aaron is a little bit jealous of Spicer because he is in charge of something and he is not. The whole storyline of the book is about Aaron trying to out do Spicer for once.
The main character from my book is Henry Fleming, and he does off to the war during the Civil War. He wants to find honor and glory in fighting for the Union army, but he had to fight the terror within him as well. I think Henry is like Conor Grennan, because they both have to put themselves out there and do things that they are afraid to do. In Little Princes conor has to face some people and situations that terrify him in order to save the little kids he is with, because he is helping save kids that are being trafficked. Henry is similar, because he has to face the other army and not back away and give up fighting against them because he wants to be known as a hero and want to do something good. They are also both different from each other, because Henry sees other people backing out and not making it through the fight and he doesn't want to be like them, where Conor went to a different country to try and save and help kids that are being and have been trafficked and protects the kids and saves the kids because he knows it is the right thing to do and does it on instinct because he loves the kids he is saving and helping. I think that if they meet Henry would learn to fight and not think about what everyone else around him is doing, and just have the other person's back and fight because you know it is right and not just because of the honor you could get. I think if Conor met Henry he would learn that you should do something you want to do and do it with full force, because when Conor first went to help the kids he didn't want to.
The main character, Lindsay Boxer, is a lot like a girl in a book called Fearless by Francine Pascal. They are both very sure of themselves. They have a confidence that a lot of women do not have. Gaia, the main character in Fearless, does not care what anyone says, she does her own thing. But, she is unsure of herself at the same time, she puts on a facade that she is a really tough person, but on the inside, she is very self-conscious about her appearance and some of the things she does. Lindsay is the same way, kind of, because she is very sure of herself, because she is the head inspector of the SFPD. But, on the inside, she does have her insecurities much like other women. She is afraid to trust again after the love of her life divorced her and left her shattered into a million pieces. They are different, because Gaia shows her confidence all the time and never lets her guard down, whereas on the other hand, Lindsay does let her guard down when she is with her best friends. If Gaia and Lindsay were to meet, I think that Gaia would learn that it is okay to open up to someone and let them in, even if its not the easiest thing to do.
The red october has been focused on a government official named Ryan so far in the book so I'm guessing that he is the main character. Unlike most of the other main characters of other books I have read he has a family. Most notable he has a daughter that he cares about, he was going to buy her a doll on his way home one day. If they were to meet the other characters could learn the value of family.
I don't know any books that compare to this one. My character is someone who has seizures that he enjoys. They make him happy. He feels like a normal person while he has them. His family doesn't like them because he is laughing and smiling while they last. That is not something he can do on his own. He does seem to be intelligent and happy even tho he doesn't function like a normal person. He does go to school.
The main character in my book, A Death in the Family, is a small town boy named Rufus who has experienced just about everything throughout the course of this novel. From enjoying life one moment, to questioning the morals he was raised with, Rufus has had nothing but a tough life, and it is for these qualities that I would envision him to be most similar to the character P.K, not due to similar accomplishments, but because of their tough life growing up. Both Rufus and P.K grew up in harsh times when they were often times left alone and had to figure things out for themselves. It was the way that the characters ‘played the hands they were dealt’, so to speak, that made them so comparable. An example of this was Rufus’s childhood. Throughout his entire childhood, Rufus was forced to grow up on his own. Off dealing with problems of their own, his parents never seemed to be around and whether he liked to show it or not, this forced Rufus to grow up, not allowing him to have the proper childhood that it seemed like all of his friends had. This is similar to P.K’s background due to the fact that at a very young age, P.K was sent away to school to give his mother time to deal with her problems, and it was from this point on that P.K was left on his own. Everyone that met him eventually had to leave at some point or was taken from P.K, forcing him to grow up quickly. Aside from the reasons these two gentlemen are alike, they do have very distinct differences. The difference that sets them the most apart are the way that they dealt with the loneliness growing up. Where Rufus had become cynical of his situation, P.K had flourished with the will to move forward and create something of himself. So essentially, it was their motivation that set them apart and this truly proves that no matter what situation you may be in, it is how you deal with that situation that determines who you are. I feel as though if Rufus and P.K were to meet, they would not get along simply due to the fact that even though they may have started off similar, throughout their lives they have traveled such different paths that they would have almost nothing in common. So it is for their situations that tie them together, yet it is their personalities that separate them.
The main character in my book, Seabiscuit by Laura Hillenbrand, is Charles Howard. Once the most successful American businessman, he later transfers to the race horse industry. Charles early career in the car dealership in San Francisco was fortunate and was very wealthy. His life turns for the worst when his own son, Frankie, dies in a car accident when he toppled off a canyon. Howard was unselfish and donated his money to build a new hospital after his son, the Frank R. Howard Memorial. After that, he became uninterested in the car industry and moved to begin in the upbeat horse industry. He married a lady named Marcela, which both had a passion for horses. He hired a horse whisperer name Tom Smith to train and break horses, one named the famous Seabiscuit. He was the unlikely champion horse. Charles had said, "Everybody loses a couple. And you either pack up and go home or you keep fighting." Even though Seabiscuit had lost some races, Charles was not willing to give up. He wanted to keep on racing Seabiscuit.
I believe that Charles Howard in Seabiscuit is compared to the Wright Brothers (Orville and Wilbur). Both started in the bicycle business to make a living, and were successful. Charles learned skills with money and mechanics. The Wright brothers developed their engineering skills. They both went through a rough time of depression, like when Charles lost Frankie. Orville was very depressed when his brother Wilbur was seriously injured by a hockey accident. Both stories overcame their weakness and went on with their lives after they recovered. Both know what how to succeed, but also know what failure is like. Charles knew the he had lost many races with Seabiscuit, but also had won too. The Wright brothers didn't succeed at first when they were flying their planes. It took time for them to fail and try again. Something different about them, is when Charles was in the bicycle industry, he was more focused on money, however the Wright brothers were focused on gaining skills.
If they were to meet, I think that Charles could teach them about the horse industry and the Wright brothers could teach Charles about flying planes. They would both experience something new.
Uncle Tom is very similar to Jake Epping, an English teacher Stephen King’s novel 11/22/63. Their beliefs and reasonings are very different, but the morals remain the same. Tom and Jake both simply wish for a better world. Tom accomplishes this (or attempts to do so) using Christianity and a form of idealism, wishing that the world could just be peaceful and free. Jake wishes for the same ending, yet attempts to accomplish this by going back in time to change events. Jake has an epiphany when he grades a paper from a mentally troubled student (who tells him about how he was bullied and almost killed by his family), and realizes how bad the world is, and how hidden it remains. Uncle Tom sees the realities, and tells others like Jake that do not understand. If they were to meet, it would be quite probable, in the first place (as Jake travels through time), but I think a sophisticated discussion would occur. They both have the idea that the world can become a better place; someone just needs to do something about it.
The main character Archie was a lot like Threou by the way that they are Individuals. Archie stood up agains every one bulling him about the Chocolate sales. He show the bullies that he wouldn't give in and made them look stupid. Threou stood up against the government and Archie stood up against bullies that makes them individuals. If Threou and Archie would meet they would learn about there life's being transcendentalism, The government and high school.
In in the Prince and the Pauper the two main characters are two young boys. In other books Mark Twain has wrote, like Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Fin, the main characters are also young kids. In those stories the characters are developed more and more throughout the story, but in this book they aren't so much the main part of the story. But overall, all the characters in those books are very similar and would be awesome if they were all together.
The most recent book I read was Lost, and the main characters of both books wouldn't really get along. The main character in the book i'm reading now, it very shy and always try to hide in the back. The main character is Lost, always wants to take charge and be the leader. He doesn't let anything get by him without him looking over it. The main character in this book, doesn't care what other people do, and is more of a follower than anything. A way that they would be similar is, they both are fairly friendly to other people. They make sure that everybody has everything they need or if they are asking for something, they make sure they get what they are asking for. They both are more of a people-person, and try to keep everybody satisfied before themselves. That's how my two characters relate to each other.
Odd reminds me of PK from the power of one because they both are for bringing justice into society like Odd finds serial killers and has them arrested to bring justice into the world, and PK wants to integrate whites with blacks because he wants fairness in the world. They are both different though because Odd sees the dead and PK doesn't. Odd is in touch with his supernatural side and PK is just an average kid. If they were to meet, they would get along swimmingly because they are alike on a personal level.
The character in my book reminds me of my mother. She is always worried about other people and what they are doing. She is always making sure they are okay. My mom is a very caring lady and she always puts others first a lot like the character in my book acts towards her daughter. If they were to meet, I bet they would get a lot very well. They would probably do something like caring together.
One of the main characters in my book, The Hunger Games, is Katniss Everdeen. Katniss is very protective of the few things she has. She is very protective of her family. When her sister was drawn as a tribute in the games, she stepped up and took her place. Katniss reminds me of Lennie from the book Of Mice and Men. Lennie is very protective of his rabbits and his best friend George, just like Katniss is protective of her family. They are different because George processes things in his brain differently because he has a mental disability. If Katniss and George were to ever meet, they would agree that their family is important and they would say that they would do anything for family or friends.
The main character in my book is a guy his name is Clay Jensen. Clay is a lot like P.K. in the movie the power of one. Clay was in love with Hannah Baker a girl who committed suicide because of the things that were said about her around the school.Clay delivers all the the tapes to all of the people that Hannah believes led her to killing herself. Clay is just trying to help Hannah even though she is no longer alive. He is trying to make everyone know what they did to make her do this.I believe he is trying to stop this from every happing again to anyone else. P.K. was always trying to help everyone that he could, and he was always trying to help anyone that he could no matter what it was.
In the book, Le Miserables, one of the main characters is Jean Val Jean, aka, Mayor Madeline. He is a very different character from most and that is what makes the book so interesting. To compare him to some one I have read about is nearly impossible, but there is somebody he does compare to. Jean kind of reminds me of John Proctor except for the fact that John Proctor didn't really have to pay for committing adultery. They are similar because they both committed a crime. With Jean Val Jean, he was a thief and sent to the Galley ways while John Proctor was hung for being a "witch." The comparison is that they both ended up becoming a better person and didn't let their past define them. John Proctor moved on from Abigail and confessed while Jean Val Jean became a better man and basically sacrificed himself to the town he mayored. They both owned up to the crimes that they had committed.
If John Proctor and Jean Val Jean meet, it would be outrageous. They would agree with some of their religious beliefs because they both believe in God, but there would be some arguments. Proctor is Puritan while Jean Val Jean is Christian/Catholic- slightly different. Since they both already see how life would be unfair they would take a great deal on this matter. John Proctor would learn some anger management and patience from jean Val Jean because he is very good at keeping calm and dealing with stress compared to Proctor. I feel as if Jean Val Jean would learn family values. Jean does a good job handling his "daughter" Cosette, but could still use some help from Proctor considering he had kids of his own for awhile.
In my book the main character is Katniss and she is in a very difficult situation. She might have to marry this guy named Peeta in order to save her family and friends. Like in the book to kill a mockingbird Atticus had to make the decision on wether or not to defend the black man or not. He know he would be hated for it but he defended the man anyways. Atticus did this because he wanted to help this man and did not really care about might happen to him, but he was not in any real danger. Unlike katniss if she doesn't marry Peeta her family and friends might all be killed.
The main character in my book is Ralph. He was the leader of all the kids, but he didn't have any time for play time. I think he is a lot like Obama, in a way. he started with a lot of followers but lost a lot along the way.
I have finished Lord of the Flies. I Think the whole group relates to the tributes in the hunger games. They all are basically marooned at a certain location and their whole goal is just to survive. They have to make sacrifices to survive and it is kind of survival of the fittest.
In my book To kill a Mocking bird Scout is like pk because she is trying to do many things to get Boo outside of the house . Same way as PK is trying to find out how to teach the Africans how to read and write and teach others .
I have finished the my book Alex Cross but I can't compare him to anyone out of a book I have read But I can compare him to an everyday person because when someone had killed a family member of his he reacted immediatly to the situation and wanted to get back for what has been done. I would have to say that is what someone would have done in that type of situation. The characters have different personalities because Alex, the main character, wants to go out and kill the murderer on the loose and his brother, Mike, just wants the cops to handle the work. Even though they are brothers they are 2 different people.
Garret, the main character in my book, shows civil disobediance. We have read about civil disobediance in class many times. He is in school and has an affair with one of his former teachers, who was fired once people found out. His parents did not like the idea at all and tried to get him away from her. When they realized they couldn't, they sent him to a boot camp to learn how to behave. That is civil disobediance because he is not causing harm to anyone, he is just doing what he wants and not listening to anyone when they tell him to get away from her. I don't know that he would learn from another character, he is stubborn and will do what he wants. Nobody, even at the camp, has intimidated him or been able to change his opinion on anything. It would do no good for him to meet anybody like him.
My main character has a let of good traits just like the main character in bone. Both of the character have good actions to stand for good causes. If they meet they can teach each well th e character from bone can learn to play max's card game. The bone character can teach never give up on his crush.
The characters in my book are all men that signed up to go fight for their country. Most of them were very young. A flaw that a lot of them have is their fear of their enemy. In this war the Vietnamese would hide in almost unseeable spots. They would hide in the ground and have traps everywhere. Most of the characters weren't that fearless warrior like Achilles. They are kinda like Robert Langdon. I read every Dan Brown book with Robert Langdon and in every book he is the guy that really can not defend himself. He is always scared because he knows that the next step he takes could be his last. While saying that both the soldiers in my current book as well as Robert Langdon keep doing what they are supposed to be doing. I think that they wouldn't necessarily get along that well because Robert is a professor and they are jar heads. Robert could learn how to better defend himself and the soldiers could learn to be a bit more sophisticated.
The main character in this book switches around in time every time he passes out and is a coward who wants to be left behind. This guy is similar to a nonvaluble foot soldier in the shadowhunter series. The foot soldier was a warrior who helped the people alongside him and until he was on the ground bleeding out he did everything in his power to help, where as the main character here wasnt useful at all and gave up and wanted to die. They are both soldiers and both want left behind but one is for the victory and safety of others and one is for selfish wanting to die.
Well in my book the main character is trying to find away out of the war but has been unsuccessful so far.He is trying to fake being insane. Someone that I find this is similar to is from the story The Crucible When Abigail Williams was laying about being a Witch.
The character in my book his name is floyd and he goes out in the woods for 4 days and 3 nights. His will to keep going on and survive in the woods is just like the main character in hatchet. In my book though Floyd is purposely trying to prove himself for the indian tribe. In hatchet the boys plane crashed and he is stranded on an island all by himself and he is fighting for survival. There both very strong and natural born hunters and survivalists. They both have there differences, but both have what it takes to survive out in the wilderness. If they were to meet they would probably tell survival stories and tell each other the different strategies that they used to stay alive.
For one of the books that i have read is the percy jackson series and Percy is the main character and some of his flaws are how he doesn't always listen to his superiors of when they send someone else on a mission he does it anyways and he also goes after his friends depending on the situation and he just does the things he does for the better good even though it gets him close for being killed and for the other character in my book that i'm reading now has a few flaws as well and they also have a lot of things in common of how they like to do the right thing even though they don't always listen to their leaders and i think some things they could learn from each other is how to stay calm and focused in battle and on the mission. another thing they could teach each other is battle strategy of different ways to take down or complete the mission the easiest way possible of not getting in trouble.
The main character in my book, Devonny, isn't like another book necessarily. She is just the Damsel in Distress type of girl. She lives in the 19th century, which in these times women relied on men for everything. Men ruled the relationships. Devonny is trying to get out of a marriage she doesn't want to get in to, but her father says it must happen. Devonny reminds me of the girl that was tied to the railroad tracks with a train coming, and at the last minute a strong man comes a saves her. The man in this case is Tod Lockwood. He is her "knight in shining armor" that has come to rescue her from her horrible life in the nineteenth century.
The main character in my book is Katniss, she is very determined and is very persistent, this is why she reminds me of P.K., they both have that stick to it attitude. Katniss and P.K. are different in the way that katniss is in a lot different situation because she is fighting for her life and P.K. is fighting for what is right. I think that P.K. could learn about having a little aggression because it is sometimes needed, and Katniss could learn to be a little more calm in some situations.
